ART BEAT softens the powerful grid patterns in the atrium of the Cardiovascular Research Center with the gentle movement of eight mobile elements. The material used is Lexan, which appears either translucent or reflective according to varying light conditions. As the forms individually turn and curve, they produce a slowly changing variety of spatial relationships. (See detail.)
Tim Prentice has created kinetic sculptures for such corporate clients as AT&T, American Express and Mobil Oil Corp.
