"Creating a residential campus environment" is part of the Master Plan's newest development, and the first step are new residence halls to be located along Jefferson Avenue and placed on either side of Daniels Hall. This model shows the proposed halls for the site of the present tennis courts.
Rather than concentrating all efforts on the new dormitory complex, however, the current hot concept is adding small clusters of 50- to 100-bed housing around the academic areas of campus, which will actually put residential students back in the heart of campus life. Ideas being discussed include creating honors housing for outstanding students, such as a small engineering dorm adjacent to the College of Engineering's facilities, or some other academically themed housing.
