THE THREE MUSES is a vividly hued abstract, multi-panel painting (closer view). It is installed in the main lobby of CCM's reconstructed Mary Emery Hall, which now houses administrative offices, classrooms, faculty offices and a new electronic media center. Sam Gilliam is a painter whose recent work has explored painting in multiple planes.
