A large glass dome once again tops the university's oldest campus building. Dedicated 106 years ago as a gift from Asa and Julia Van Wormer, the structure originally included a small glass dome on top and housed the university's first library. In 1930, it was renovated for office use, and the dome was taken down.
Today's glass dome is visible from many parts of campus and brings a regal feel back to this classical-style building. A new set of steps adorn the entrance, and most of the exterior section has a bright gray, granite facade that matches the upper sandstone levels.
Completed in January, 2006, the Van Wormer building again houses administrative offices.
