University of Cincinnati president Nancy Zimpher helped welcome the Cincinnati Zoo's baby Bearcat, or binturong, today. UC Dr. Edward Holland has uncovered evidence that may significantly increase the pool of donors for cornea transplants worldwide. Current practice limits donors to those who are 65 or younger. His study shows that age could be extended by 10 years.

The new health sciences Library inside UC's new Center for Academic Research Excellence (CARE)/Crawley Building will open with a new name. The library is being named for Donald Harrison, a local cardiologist and former senior vice president and provost for health affairs at UC. Harrison made a $1 million gift toward the library expansion and renovation in 2005.
