UC sophomore Brittany Baumann is the leading vote getter in a national online spirit contest.

Brittany Baumann, a sophomore Bearcat cheerleader won a five-round national competition for the Sideline Spirit title hosted by the Web site athlonsports.com. The final round included Baumann, who represented the Big East Conference, and several others from most of the major conferences. Brittany finished with more than 205,000 votes, double her second-place competition.

UC's co-ed cheer squad supports the Bearcats at both football and men's basketball contests. Baumann is a native of Hilliard, Ohio, and is majoring in psychology.
