'Value' No. 62 -- In the magazine's last College Guide, UC was ranked 62nd among Money's 100 "elite values" in higher education.

International Student Barometer

UC ranked No. 4 internationally -- The latest International Student Barometer, the largest annual study of international students in the world, ranked UC fourth among 84 institutions across four continents as one of the best choices in the world for obtaining their education. Approximately 67,000 international students voted based upon their college experiences in four subject areas: arrival, learning, living and support. Among categories measured, UC ranked first in two areas: recreation/sports facilities and transportation options between university locations.(2008)

DesignIntelligence

Interior Design No. 2 -- For the past decade, UCˇ¦s  interior design program has ranked No. 1 or 2 in the nation. (2009)

Industrial Design No. 3 and 8 -- UC was named as having the No. 3 industrial design program for undergraduate studies, ahead of The Ohio State University, and the No. 8 program for graduate studies. (2009)

Industrial Designers Society of America

School of Design among top four in the world -- The  DAAP school was one of four to receive an International Design Excellence Award, considered the "gold standard" and sponsored by the society and BusinessWeek magazine. The other four schools were from South Korea, the Netherlands and Milwaukee. (July 2007)

School of Design among world's best -- The DAAP school was listed among the best 60 design programs in the world. (Oct. '07 & '06)

College of Business in top 100 -- UCˇ¦s College of Business placed 91st out of 100 public and private undergraduate programs listed as the country's best.  (2009)

Criminal Justice No. 1 in research productivity -- UC's criminal justice department led the nation in having the most published researchers in the field over the last five years, according to a Journal of Criminal Justice survey. Itˇ¦s previous survey, five years ago, also placed UC No. 1. The ranked was based upon the number of articles published weighted by the quality of the journal. (late 2007)

Planetizen Guide

Graduate urban planning program -- The DAAP program ranks fifth in the Midwest and 20th in North America, including sixth in urban design, in the Planetizen Guide to Graduate Urban Planning Programs. With its Top-25 ranking, UC stands with other such schools as Harvard, Cornell and MIT. Planetizen is the only ranking system that currently exists for Schools of Planning. (2008)

Research: National Science Foundation
Grants and contracts No. 28 -- During fiscal 2007, UC and its affiliate organizations earned more than $333.5 million in grants and contracts, an all-time high for UC. The National Science Foundation ranks UC 28th in the country according to research and development expenditures. (2007)

No. 5 in real estate -- UC is the fifth most influential real estate research institution in the U.S., based on the quality of faculty research and literary citations in journals. UC's Real Estate Center placed ahead of schools such as Cornell, Harvard, Wisconsin and Yale. (2007)

Committee on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs

Clermont program in top 20 -- Clermont College's Surgical Technology Program is rated one of the top 20 among 360 programs by the Accreditation Review Committee for Education in Surgical Technology. (2006)

Small Times magazine

Nanotechnology education No. 2 -- Based on a national survey, Small Times magazine has ranked UC No. 2 in the U.S. for its nanotechnology education programs. (May/June 2005)

Pharmacy grads achieve highest standards on board exams
UC's College of Pharmacy leads all other Ohio pharmacy schools with more than 98 percent of its doctor of pharmacy graduates passing the national licensure exam.

Association of Research Libraries

At 47th, University Libraries are ranked among the top 50 U.S. and Canadian research university libraries, according to the latest report by the Association of Research Libraries. A decade ago, UC's libraries (University Libraries, Medical Center Libraries, and the Law Library) were ranked 58th. (April 2005)

NACUBO endowment ranking

UC's endowment ranks 63rd in the U.S. among all colleges and universities, and 22nd in the U.S. among public institutions.

Black Issues In Higher Education

The University of Cincinnati is ranked 48th in the United States in awarding bachelor's degrees in engineering to African American students. (2005)

American Institute of Architects

The AIA's international rankings of the world's most notable projects placed UC's Steger Student Life Center among 11 of the world's most exciting buildings. (2006)

Gold medal for dining

UC's new CenterCourt Dining in the Campus Recreation Center won gold medal status for its innovations in college dining from the National Association of College and University Food Services. (2006)

Kaplan's "Unofficial, Unbiased Insider's Guide to the 320 Most Interesting Colleges"

UC's Career Development Center ranks among the nation's best. The ranking, which includes career services, internships and co-op programs, was based on a national survey of guidance counselors. In all, only 35 of the nation's colleges and universities were listed based on the excellence of their career services. (current guide, 2003)

National Council on Economic Education
UC's Economics Center for Education and Research was singled out from among 250 centers of its kind around the nation to receive the first outstanding performance award. (2002)

Association of University Technology Managers
UC earned a record $6.5 million from patents and licenses in fiscal year 2002, ranked nationally at No. 28 in the United States.

I.D. magazine
UC's School of Design was named among world's top 10, the only public institution to make that list. (October 2002)

This book from Octameron Associates ranked UC as one of 15 "underrated gems," citing the university's extensive co-op program, career-focused students and its urban but quiet location. (2001)

Academy of Management Journal
A study published by Academy of Management Journal ranked UC's College of Business 40th among more than 700 MBA programs nationally. The college ranked highest in production/operations management (No. 4 nationally). In a combined category of insurance/international business/real estate, it ranked 15th nationally, and marketing ranked 28th. (one-time study done in 2000)

London (UK) Times Higher Education Supplement (2007)
The Times Higher Education supplement, emphasizing research universities. ranks the University of Cincinnati 219th among all the universities in the world, 63rd among U.S. Universities, and 32nd among public U.S. universities.

Academic Ranking of World Universities (2007)
The influential Academic Ranking of World Universities, published by Shanghai Jiaotong University, ranks the University of Cincinnati in the top 200 of more than 2,500 ranked worldwide.

Ohio Bar Exam (2006)
Graduates from the UC College of Law ranked first in Ohio when they outperformed students from Ohio's other law schools on the July, 2006 Bar Exam, passing the test at a 92 percent rate. UC grads also led the state in performance on the February 2006 Bar exam.

Webometrics (2007)
The Webometrics project to measure commitment by universities to Web publication and Open Access initiatives ranks the University of Cincinnati 165th among all institutions in the world.

UCˇ¦s Center for Entrepreneurship Education & Research has made Entrepreneur magazineˇ¦s 3rd Annual ˇ§Top 100 Entrepreneurial Colleges and Universities in the U.S.ˇ¨

Entrepreneur Awards (2008)
University of Cincinnati graduate students were named ˇ§Co-Grand Championsˇ¨ in the May 2008 Best-Strategy Invitational (BSI) online strategy competition. UCˇ¦s team, ˇ§Everymans Cneakers,ˇ¨ bested 10 other teams to share the grand championship with the team from Pennsylvania State University ˇV York. UC students also brought home the first-place prize for a field-case consulting project in the February 2008 Small Business Institute competition.
