Internet Explorer 6 support page

This page is dedicated to assisting those still using Internet Explorer 6. It is well known that there are quite a few issues with our Web site and many others on the Internet when using this browser.

Before listing any fixes to help you use this browser, we HIGHLY encourage you to update to Internet Explorer versions 7 or 8. Microsoft has deemed Internet Explorer 6 obsolete and will no longer be updating it. There are many other browsers that work faster, more securely and, most importantly, read Web sites correctly. Below is a list of such browsers.
Upgrade Internet Explorer
Mozilla Firefox (recommended)
Apple Safari
Google Chrome

If for some reason you cannot update your Internet browser and still use Internet Explorer 6, here are some known fixes to help you view our Web site.

Having trouble viewing Adobe Flash?

IE6 is known to have trouble installing Adobe Flash. A recent update by Microsoft has made this even harder. Here is a list of steps that will let you install Flash safely, allowing you to view the UC Magazine navigation in the left column of our Web site as well as many other great applications we have available.

1. Download and save the manual Flash Player Uninstaller file to your Desktop :
http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/uninstall_flash_player.exe

2. Download and Save the manual Flash Player Installer file to your Desktop:
http://www.macromedia.com/go/full_flashplayer_win_ie

3. Disconnect from the internet and temporarily disable any realtime Antivirus programs running in the background.

4. Run the Uninstaller file to remove your current Flash Player.

5. Run the Installer file to install the latest version of the Flash Player on your machine.

6. Re-enable your Antivirus software and Test your site again.

7. If the above procedure does not resolve your issue, you can try opening a Flash Player technical support case via "webcase" at:

Cannot see photos on gallery archives?

It is known that some of our gallery page archives will not read the Web page's code correctly. This is also a flaw in IE6. It may look like the images are not showing up. In this case the only thing we can suggest is to update.

If you have any other question or comments, please contact UC Magazine staff. We will do our best to assist you.
